Riding Amtrak through Midwest, I think these were
cattle cars transporting tortured animals in ongoing
holocaust of cruelty and unnecessary resource depletion.
A lot of water and grain is used to raise superfluous meat
for an overfed and undernourished population. Byproducts
include millions of tons of sewage and greenhouse gas methane.
We're riding the rails to a wreck but few are willing to put the
brakes on their own consumption. There need to be institutional
changes as well but individual choices do have a cumulative impact.
